AssetWise System Management Console Help

To Encrypt Server Settings and Session Tokens

In AssetWise System Management Console there is an Encryption tab (available from the Content pane, when you select the Service Manager node).

You can select to apply either a basic or a secure encryption key to server settings (Encrypt server settings), to session tokens (Session token signing), or to both (Use one setting for all).

  • Selecting Basic will encrypt using a symmetric key.
  • Selecting Secure will encrypt using a certificate.

AssetWise servers communicating with each other and/or sharing the same communities require the same key or certificate for both available settings. The configuration can be pushed to all servers using Servers control, or manually set on each server.

To manually set the Basic key value between two or more servers:

  1. Click the View Key… button on first server and copy the key value.
  2. Open same System Management Console window on destination server and choose the Supply new key option from Key picklist.
  3. Paste the key value in the New Key Value field and select File > Save.
  4. Restart Service Manager to apply the changes
